If you love potato chips as much as we do, you’ve probably tried the myriad flavors that are available out there. Sour cream n’ onion, kyushu seaweed, and any of the spicy ones are our favourite. (But really, we don’t remember any chips that we didn’t enjoy.)
But, potato chips are not exactly our best friend if we’re trying to eat healthy or stay in shape. Apart from being high in fat, store-bought potato chips also tend to be highly processed.
That’s especially true for the flavored kinds.
Technically, all you need to make potato chips are potatoes and oil. But, if you look at the ingredient list on the back of your favourite potato chips, you’d be in for a surprise.
Chances are you’re going to see a long list of ingredients, and unless you’re a chemist, you may not recognize many of them.

Of course, we’re a forward-looking bunch, and we’re not just going to tell you to “don’t eat this”, and “don’t eat that”. So here’s a convenient hack to get great-tasting potato chips, without any of the funky chemical ingredients (which may or may not be harmful, but why take the risk, right?).
Step 1: Grab a bag of unsalted potato chips. Look at the ingredient list, it should only say potatoes and oil.
Step 2: Prepare your favourite flavors. We’ve combined the best of two worlds — spicy and seaweed-y. Here’s a list of what we used:
Step 3: Add the desired amount of the selected ingredients into the bag and shake till the chips are evenly coated with flavored goodness.
Being fitness and nutrition professionals doesn’t mean that we only eat clean, and that we’ll say no to our favourite unhealthy foods.

There’re always small ways that we can make our eating habits a little healthier.
If we believe and follow everything that the news tell us, then there wouldn’t be anything healthy left for us to eat. But at the same time, we don’t want to look back in regret thinking “OMG I shouldn’t have eaten so much of that cancer-causing chemical”.
Now, this small hack is not going to help you lose any weight, because you’re still consuming the calories from the fat in oil, but at least you’re familiar with ALL the ingredients that’re in your potato chips.
