“I’ve no time to exercise.”

Is this you? For many folks, that’s the #1 challenge of losing weight and getting in shape.

To many people, getting an effective workout means dedicating lots of time to exercise or having to travel to a gym. It’s a struggle when you have to juggle between your work commitments, social life, mommy/daddy duties and household chores.

But truth is, you can workout effectively anytime, anywhere as long as you have 5 minutes to spare.

Here are 3 of our favorite FREE workout apps that can guide you through a quick workout right at home, while dressed in your PJs!

1. Sworkit (iOS, Android)

Best-free-workout-app-SworkitSworkit (derived from Simply Work It) is an easy-to-use fitness app that has workouts that go as short as 5 minutes, great for folks who are really short on time. The creators of Sworkit mentioned that they strive to provide the simplest way to get a workout in anywhere, anytime, with no room for excuses.

You can choose between strength, cardio, yoga and stretching workouts and all the exercises don’t require any equipment. There are also video demonstrations and a huge list of exercises that you can follow along to.

Here’s a quick tip: If there are any exercises that are too difficult, simply SWIPE LEFT to skip to the next one.

Bonus fun fact: Sworkit was featured on Shark Tank in Febuary 2016!

Summary:

+ Simple and easy to use
+ Very flexible when it comes to selecting your workout duration
+ No equipment required
Need to pay to get access to pre-built workouts

2. Sworkit Kids (iOS, Android)

If you’re a busy parent, this app is perfect for you to get fit while spending time with your kids. The exercises may not be as intense as those you find in other apps, but it’ll still give you a good challenge if you’re a beginner.

2. Nike Training Club (iOS, Android)

There are 100+ workouts in the app and you can easily select the ones that fit you best by filtering by level of difficulty, duration, equipment, intensity etc.

Best-free-workout-app-NTC-workout-selectionThis app is more comprehensive, but slightly less flexible in terms of picking the duration of your workouts, with filters of only 15, 30 and 45 minutes to choose from.

Everything on the app is completely free, even the weeks-long structured programs. It will generate a personalized workout plan for you after you indicate whether you have any equipment, how many days you want to workout and if you want to include running into the routine. The app will also ask how challenging your workout was and adjust future workouts based on your feedback.
